Hummus is one of those wonderful dishes, you can eat it with vegetable sticks or bread or as a spread. Well I like to spread it in my wraps, tastes really good with crunchy vegetables and felafel.
I love adding some flavours to my hummus like jalapeño or something spicy or something pungent. This time I wanted to make something different, something exciting and rather out of the box.
Whilst I was in America, I found hummus with different flavours and god they were awful. The flavour used to off because of the preservatives or something strange. I never liked the idea of buying store bought, because we all know how ridiculously easy to make this simple dish at home.
I know there are thousands of hummus recipes on the internet but I am still sharing my recipe.
Try this hummus and serve it with sourdough or a simple pita bread.
This is how you make this recipe.
Ingredients:
Instructions:
For hummus place the drained chickpeas, tahini and garlic in a food processor, give one or two pulses.
Add the ice cubes, start pulsing and start adding oil. Make a smooth puree, add in the lemon juice and salt.
For mushrooms, heat a pan and add oil. Add in the mushroom and garlic. Saute till mushroom brown and crispy.
Add the black pepper, chilli flakes and salt.
Place the mushrooms over hummus and garnish with chives, cumin powder and sweet paprika.
Serve it with pita bread or sourdough.
